Sport Weeks

These popular camps are hosted in each community, and include a great mix of sports and physical activities that aren’t the traditional youth after-school programs! Past camps have included archery, bubble soccer, badminton, fencing, laser tag, curling, kickball, lacrosse, and more! Activities change from year to year as we partner with new organizations to bring fresh, new activities to Ritchot. All camps also include a balance of outdoor time, arts & crafts, and creative play time.

Art Week

In this camp, we've partnered with Art City to bring in qualified art instructors to teach art activities in various mediums. Art City is a local art centre in Winnipeg that focuses on delivering accessible art programming to encourage community building, foster freedom of expression, and personal growth through art. Past activities have included clay & ceramics, dioramas, tiedye, painting, comic drawing, and more! This camp was highly popular last year, with all spots being quickly filled. Additional programming done by Art City in Ritchot has also been highly sought after, with all programming filling up in under 24 hours. All camps also include a balance of outdoor time, arts & crafts, and creative play time.

Culinary Camp*

In this camp, Ritchot Recreation partners with a certified chef to bring you high quality culinary programming! This camp includes dedicated time sessions with the guest chef, training in kitchen safety and proper utensil usage, recipe prep and creation, and of course, making several delicious dishes throughout the week! This camp is aimed at a slightly older age group, and is a great way to introduce your child to the world of culinary arts in a professional grade kitchen. All camps also include a balance of outdoor time, arts & crafts, and creative play time.

Survivor Camp!**

New for 2022, we present Survivor Camp! In this camp, campers will enter into teams based on their age groups, and compete with their fellow campers in a variety of activities covering skills in endurance, speed, puzzle solving, and of course.. survival. This camp will take place Wednesday to Friday of the week, covering 3 days in Grande Pointe Park. While this is a shorter camp than the other weeks to account for the long weekend (and to allow our staff to rest and re-charge to return to the camps full of fun and energy for the summer!) each day of this camp will include special guest and in-house activities, all designed to take advantage of the beautiful nature park in Grande Pointe. This year we also have access to the new Grande Pointe Clubhouse for rainy days and craft times, meaning we will be able to host this outdoor focused camp no matter what mother nature throws at us!

Nature Camp

This camp is one of the newest additions to our camp line-up, and has already proven to be one of our most popular! At the Grande Pointe Park we partner with Fort Whyte Alive to deliver high quality outdoor educational programming, led by a certified outdoor educator from the centre. The camp days are based in and around the Grande Pointe Park trail system and park. Campers explore the wilderness, learning about plants, animals, weather, soil, water, and much more! This year we also have access to the new Grande Pointe Clubhouse for rainy days and craft times. Well loved last year, this camp is a great way to enjoy the beautiful summer nature in Ritchot in a safe and education manner. All camps include a balance of outdoor time, arts & crafts, and creative play time.

Eco-Culture & Agriculture Week

By popular request from the community, Ritchot Recreation introduces this all-new eco/ agriculture themed camp! In this camp, your campers will participate in activities themed around growing food, animal raising, ecological protection and promotion, and food production. Some planned activities include butter making, water purification, seed sprouting, plant identification, and 2 planned visits to the Agricultural Research Station in Glenlea! These outings will tour the facility with the Centre's 'From the Farm to Your Fork' field trip, as well as their 'Slice of Agriculture' tour (While we'll keep the event details a surprise, we'll give you a hint, there's Pizza!). We'll also be bringing the Research Station to the camp itself to do some hands on activities focusing on seed science and egg production. All camps also include a balance of outdoor time, arts & crafts, and creative play time.

*Culinary camp age group 9-14.

**Survivor Camp 3 days only, priced at $85 for the session.
